We are delighted to announce that Daria Szalinska, an associate at Araiys Design Landscape Architecture, has been honored with the prestigious Bunny Mellon Garden Design Prize for 2024 by the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art (ICAA). Our award-winning project, “Meyers Pond Retreat,” showcases innovative sustainability and elegant design and features reclaimed materials and native plantings, including a bioswale with switchgrass. The garden blends modern and classic elements, reflecting the tranquility of Zen gardens with the vibrancy of the Hamptons. The ICAA jury lauded Daria's authentic and elegant approach, highlighting her critical thinking and hands-on process in creating impactful landscapes. Her work exemplifies the best in emerging landscape design, marrying aesthetic beauty with environmental stewardship.
