Inspired by the panoramic vista overlooking the Peconic Bay, our design approach was to integrate the home with outdoor spaces, creating a sanctuary where the family can relax, unwind, and connect with nature. The site plan incorporated native plantings, expansive lawn areas for play, and a dedicated vegetable garden and orchard, reflecting the homeowner's passion for sustainable living and connection to the land.
At the heart of the design lies an elevated deck adjacent to the house, serving as a versatile platform for various amenities including a dining terrace, outdoor kitchen, and swimming pool. By employing subtle changes in elevation, the deck design defines the various use areas while maximizing the panoramic views of the bay.
The selection of plantings and materials was carefully curated to complement the native palette of grass, sky, and water, creating a cohesive and rejuvenating seaside retreat.
